International Council of AIDS Service Organizations http://www.icaso.org
works to strengthen the community-based response to HIV/AIDS by connecting and
representing NGOs throughout the world. Founded in 1991, ICASO operates from regional
secretariats based on all five continents, guided by a central secretariat in
Canada. The International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) http://www.aidsalliance.org
is an international development non-governmental organisation which was set up
in 1993 by a consortium of international donors. The Alliance's mission is to
support communities in developing countries to play a full and effective role
in the global response to AIDS. NEW
The Network of Sex Workers Project (NSWP) http://www.nswp.org
was founded in 1991 as an informal alliance which participates in independently
financed projects in partnership with member organizations and technical support
agencies. The Network has recently received funds from the International HIV/AIDS
Alliance to work with them and to establish a secretariat, which is to be based
in Capetown. An interim board has been established to take the network to its
next stage as a legally constituted international organisation to promote sex
workers health and human rights.

is the information support services for people living or working with HIV/AIDS
in the Asia-Pacific region. UNAIDS http://www.unaids.org
is the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, drawing together eight organisations
(ILO, UNDCP, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, WHO, World Bank) in a joint and cosponsored

UNDP South East Asia Regional Programme on HIV/AIDS http://www.hiv-development.org
analyses the roles of mobility systems, elaborating development strategies to
mitigate the negative impact of these factors on HIV epidemics and assisting in
implementing these development strategies. NEW
UNDP Special Initiative on HIV/AIDS Regional Programme for South and Northeast
Asia http://www.hivanddevelopment.org
is a programme that supports the objective of containing the spread and impact
of HIV/AIDS in the South and Northeast Asia region through integrated responses
that promote gender equality, poverty reduction and good governance. It assists
13 countries in the region to work towards fulfilment of the UNGASS and Millennium
Goals and achieve sustainable human development through averting an HIV/AIDS crisis

is an HIV/AIDS portal for Asia Pacific that seeks to address the strongly-felt
information and services needs of the region, particularly in the overall development
context, and act as a regional platform to synergise multi-sectoral responses
against the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
